“Buy the sky and sell the sky and bleed the sky and tell the sky”

— Don't fall on me - REM

The East is a non-stop larp, you eat and sleep in the game. The registration fee includes board and lodging, from early Friday afternoon to early Sunday afternoon.

The larp takes place in the Turin area, the exact location will be communicated to participants after registration; it is possible to reach the larp by car or train and a group for carpooling and rides will be activated. The location is about 60km from Turin Caselle airport.

The meeting is on Friday at 1 p.m. then we will start with registrations, preparations, and workshops, so we ask you to be on time. The game will start Friday afternoon and there will be no breaks until the end. Since this game is set in a contemporary timeline, there will be no breaks for personal hygiene, sleep, or breakfast. These are all things that will be accomplished by the characters during the larp.

The East is a highly realistic larp in which participants will be experiencing life in the community where everyone contributes to daily activities, including the preparation of meals. There will also be opportunities for participants to actually work on various creative projects.
Details about the experience will only be shared with participants after registration, and some of the activities will be a surprise, even in fiction, and will not be announced in advance.

The activities will be very varied and the protagonists of our story will travel to different locations during the event, on foot, by car, or by van.
In short, and without making spoilers, let's give some indicative examples of what participants might be up against:
• walking in the woods
• driving vehicles
• kneading and baking bread
• tending the garden
• procuring and preparing food
• repair or build devices
• interact with blank firearms, computers, radios, and technological gimmicks

Physical requirements - is this larp for me?

The facility where we will play is surrounded by nature, the interior is heated but there will be plenty of outdoor play as well; the larp involves a certain amount of physical exercise and action moments. The event is not suitable for those with severe walking difficulties.
Those with special health conditions can contact the staff privately to ask for more information or to clear up any doubts.

Costumes and equipment

Each participant is responsible for his/her own costume. The larp is set in modern days, therefore no complicated outfit is required. You must be equipped with:
• comfortable and warm outfit, appropriate to the character and also suitable for outdoor activities
• sleeping bag or sheets and blankets
• towel and toiletries
• backpack or comfortable bag to carry
• (optional) some characters are local and may wish to bring personal belongings or items to decorate their environment.

In some cases, staff may provide participants with additional items of costume or equipment, appropriate to the characters or activities in which they are involved (e.g. gardening gloves, overalls, etc.).

Sleeping

You sleep in heated dormitories, on beds or cots provided by the facility.

Eating

You eat in the game, in a healthy and sustainable way; meals will be predominantly vegetarian or vegan. The event also aims to reflect on modern nutrition and food waste.
For this reason, you can bring food or drink from home, in line with your character, but this must be agreed upon with the staff, both in terms of quantity and quality.

The event includes, at certain moments, a moderate amount of alcoholic beverages.
Drunkenness is not tolerated and may be grounds for removal from the event at the sole discretion of the staff.

Those with special dietary restrictions such as allergies or severe intolerances must notify the staff in advance and if meals in line with your medical needs cannot be provided, it will be possible to bring your own food, which will be stored by the staff and served at the event.

Safety

All Terre Spezzate events, as of 2013, use a system of safewords to regulate the intensity of the game and always offer the possibility to opt out, i.e. to walk away from an unpleasant scene or situation without consequences in the fiction. There is no safe zone out-of-play at this event, but there will always be a reference staff on site for participants to contact if they have any problems.
